Scientific seminar “Economy and Development of U.S. regions”
On the 14th of April professor of Grand Valley State University (USA) Richard Jelier conducted a scientific seminar for SPA postgraduate students. The meeting participants considered the economic development of local communities in the USA.
Topical issues covered in the report initiated huge discussion and exchange of opinions between the members engaged. Debates were mainly focused on the matters of sustainable economic growth of various regions and local communities, main objectives and overall strategies of further development. Strong emphasis was made on the problems of taxation, creation of innovation clusters, integration of local businesses into the national and global economy.
The third scientific seminar is to be on the 28th of April, Room E-834, 19.00. Expected topic for the discussion – “Modern concerns of immigration and multiculturalism in NYC, London and Sydney: comparative policy of the USA, Great Britain and Australia”.
